The Coaching Program
$500 for 5 — 1 hour sessions
BEGIN WITH WHERE YOU ARE
As a financial advisor, I always started with what was top-of-mind. For a woman, it might mean addressing long-held fears, various money concerns and/or the shame of lack of knowledge and stupid questions.
VALUES AND MONEY DO MIX
Then when we had discussed the things that really mattered to the woman, they were actually excited about tackling investing.
It has never really been about one or the other — values or money. Money & investing are a means to an end. Your values are the foundation. They provide the structure for decision – making and keep you headed in the right direction (that North Star I mentioned earlier).
INVESTING NEEDS A RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
It wouldn’t be that far-fetched to flip it and say that investing is the recipe for success – given women’s life expectancy, probability they will be a caregiver but won’t have one and the severity of the gender pay gap.
I was a professional chef before I was a financial advisor so forgive my parable. I like to say investing is like baking a cake. Most women know the basic ingredients, but that isn’t enough. It is knowing how to put them together, and why, that leads to a successful outcome.
But perhaps the most important lesson is that investing is imperative to achieving financial security and the ultimate sense of financial wellbeing we all desire.
ONE-ON-ONE COACHING INCLUDES A PERSONAL DISCOVERY WORKBOOK
Note: We may or may not strictly follow the course outline depending on your particular financial situation and background.
PART 1: CLARIFY YOUR VALUES — (self-development exercises and journaling)
We start with the “Big Picture” by clarifying your deepest personal values. Who and what really matters should guide your financial choices and give you the courage to reach your full financial potential. Think of this step as determining your North Star.
PART 2: CONNECT YOUR VALUES TO MONEY — (self-development exercises and journaling)
The trick to aligning your Values with your Money is understanding where you are financially. Once you know what you spend and what you have, you can learn how to use money to live your values more effectively. Ultimately this new mindset will give you more power to shape your own life and that of the community around you.
PART 3: CREATE A PLAN FORWARD — (self-development exercises and journaling)
Step 1 is clearing any roadblocks, such as negative attitudes towards money. Revisiting early childhood experiences with money can help you blast through what is holding you back through awareness and self-compassion. Then using a vision of your “future self” we will begin to help you outline positive steps forward.
PART 4: BE ACCOUNTABLE TO ENSURE SUCCESS — (lecture and self-development exercises)
Learn how to develop good money habits that last. Setting up a process for accountability can ensure you actually make the changes you envision. Seal the deal by establishing a support team to make your goals become a reality.
PART 5: FIND YOUR VOICE BY INVESTING WITH PURPOSE — (lecture and Q & A)
Adopt an investing mindset to break through the confidence gap. You will discover that financial jargon needlessly complicates the investment process. Then we will apply everything you have learned to exploring Sustainable Investing. It is now possible to invest in values-aligned funds while actually making money.
